The <strong>dide<\/strong> platform has an indicator that helps to <strong>identify<\/strong> children who may be susceptible to <strong>learning problems<\/strong> related to vision and hearing. <\/h2>\n<div class=\"art-postcontent clearfix\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">We must not confuse SIGHT and VISION<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">When we think of vision, we usually think of visual acuity. But vision is much more than that. It is not the eyes, but the brain that processes the visual world, including symbols, images, and distances. It is estimated that 25% of <strong>school failure<\/strong> is due to visual problems that may not only be related to graduation, but may also affect visual abilities that alter coordination between the eyes as well as the ability to accommodate.   <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Therefore, vision and learning are closely related. When there is a <strong>difficulty in learning<\/strong>, a behavioral <strong>problem<\/strong>, or even poor posture at the desk, the first thing to do would be to check if the quality of vision may be the origin of these situations. How many times is ADD, <a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"https:\/\/dide.org\/tdah-sintomas-deteccion-pautas\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">ADHD<\/a> or Dyslexia diagnosed in the face of a <strong>difficulty<\/strong> in reading when perhaps the origin is a visual health <strong>problem<\/strong>?  <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">According to specialist Amparo Alcocer, optician and optometrist at the <a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.alcoceroptico.com\/\">Alcocer<\/a> optical center, it is important to evaluate not only vision but THE EFFECTIVENESS OF VISION, since having 100% visual acuity does not mean that our visual system is working well, there is much more to assess.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<h3><em><span style=\"color: #000000;\">In my day-to-day work, I find children who are very upset because they believe they are not able to study. Sometimes what happens is that they do not see or hear well. Normally in the check-ups what is usually done is to see the quantity of vision or hearing, but the quality is not looked at and this produces many <strong>learning problems.<\/strong> <a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.dide.app\">d\u00edde<\/a> is an application that helps us to <strong>detect<\/strong> both the quantity and the quality. Amparo Alcocer  <\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The solutions do not always involve wearing glasses; by performing visual therapy, all areas related to vision are improved and enhanced. The duration of the therapy will depend on the visual dysfunction to be treated, and is always based on performing exercises guided by a visual therapist. Generally, they attend a consultation one day a week, and the rest of the days they work at home.  <\/span><\/p>\n<h2><\/h2>\n<h2>The main visual skills related to learning:<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Visual acuity:<\/strong> fine discrimination of images in far and near vision.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Ocular motility<\/strong>: eye movements to follow a moving object or jump from one point to another in space.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Accommodation<\/strong>: focusing at different distances.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Fusion<\/strong>: coordinating and aligning the eyes to obtain a single image.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Stereopsis<\/strong>: perceiving images in three dimensions.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Visuomotor integration:<\/strong> coordinating eye movement with hand movement.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Spatial vision:<\/strong> visual recognition of space and space-time relationships.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Visuoauditory integration<\/strong>: coordinating auditory information with visual information.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Visual perception:<\/strong> interpretation of visual information, image recognition, visual memory, visualization\u2026<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">A <strong>problem<\/strong> that affects any of these visual skills can have a significant impact on a child&#8217;s learning.<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"art-postcontent clearfix\">\n<h2><\/h2>\n<h2 class=\"font_8\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Learning problems<\/strong> related to vision<\/h2>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Difficulty<\/strong> in reading and writing: The difficulty that some children present in achieving fluent reading alerts us to the possibility of a vision <strong>problem<\/strong>. Sometimes, people with <strong>learning problems<\/strong> related to vision can \u201csee the words\u201d but cannot \u201csee what they mean\u201d. Some children with this type of <strong>problems<\/strong> relate them to <a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"https:\/\/dide.org\/las-malas-notas-pueden-estar-causadas-una-dislexia-sin-diagnosticar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">dyslexia<\/a>. <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Attention deficit<\/strong> with and without hyperactivity: Some visual problems that have not been detected or treated can produce symptoms similar to those that are commonly attributed to an <strong>Attention Deficit<\/strong> with or without Hyperactivity (ADD or <a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"https:\/\/dide.org\/tdah-sintomas-deteccion-pautas\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">ADHD<\/a>). Due to these similarities, some children with visual <strong>problems<\/strong> are classified as ADD or ADHD. <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<blockquote>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Due to the similarity of the symptoms commonly attributed to dyslexia, ADD and ADHD, some children with visual <strong>problems<\/strong> are misdiagnosed.<\/h3>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\">How to <strong>detect<\/strong> if there are <strong>learning difficulties<\/strong> due to a vision problem<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">From <a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.dide.app\"><strong>dide<\/strong><\/a> we want to collaborate in that <strong>early detection<\/strong> and help
