{"id":16069,"date":"2019-11-25T14:14:11","date_gmt":"2019-11-25T13:14:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dide.org\/preventing-gender-violence-through-the-education-of-children-and-adolescents\/"},"modified":"2019-11-25T14:14:11","modified_gmt":"2019-11-25T13:14:11","slug":"preventing-gender-violence-through-the-education-of-children-and-adolescents","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.dide.org\/en\/preventing-gender-violence-through-the-education-of-children-and-adolescents\/","title":{"rendered":"Preventing gender violence through the education of children and adolescents"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>November 25, International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">November 25 was declared International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women at the 1st Feminist Meeting of Latin America and the Caribbean held in Bogot\u00e1, Colombia in July 1981.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">At this meeting, women denounced <strong>gender violence<\/strong> at the domestic level, as well as rape and sexual harassment at the state level, including torture and abuse suffered by political prisoners.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">November 25 was chosen to commemorate the violent assassination of the Mirabal sisters (Patria, Minerva, and Maria Teresa), three political activists murdered on November 25, 1960, by the secret police of dictator Rafael Trujillo in the Dominican Republic. In 1999, the UN officially recognized this date. <\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<h3>The UN recalls that November 25 is not only a day of vindication and calls for the involvement of governments to eradicate gender violence.<\/h3>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Forms of violence against women<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Violence against women and girls manifests itself physically, sexually, and psychologically and includes:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Intimate partner violence (physical violence, psychological abuse, marital rape, femicide)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Sexual violence and harassment (rape, forced sexual acts, unwanted sexual advances, child sexual abuse, forced marriage, stalking, street harassment, cyber harassment)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Human trafficking (slavery, sexual exploitation)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Genital mutilation<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Child marriage<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Preventing hostile behavior through the education of children and adolescents<\/h2>\n<h3>Searching for the \u201c<b>Hostile Behavior Pattern<\/b>\u201d to help them control and manage their behavior from childhood<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">What if we could, through prevention, reduce the incidence of bullying, child-to-parent aggression, aggression towards teachers, gender violence, sexual assault, and child abuse?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">As is well known, <strong>once it is known which children are predisposed to develop these behaviors and there is knowledge of what is happening to the minor, the intervention that is required can be done<\/strong> for the greater well-being of the same.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The <strong>d\u00edde<\/strong> methodology, created by specialists in education, psychology, and new technologies, is extremely simple, without the intervention of the minor, and through <strong>digital questionnaires answered by parents and teachers,<\/strong> the school, psychopedagogical cabinet, and also the family can collect the necessary information to obtain the student&#8217;s profile and know what their needs and difficulties are. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">With d\u00edde we can look for a pattern in an entire course to detect early children who may present this profile. To do this, we select from the <a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"https:\/\/dide.org\/indicadores_dide\/\">35 indicators studied by d\u00edde<\/a>, those that will provide us with the information we need, which would be the following: <\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Dominant, demanding and egocentric behavior<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Disobedience<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Difficulty in managing anger<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">School maladjustment<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Family maladjustment<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Low tolerance to frustration<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Oppositional defiant behavior<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Anxious mood<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Social maladjustment<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">These are behaviors that, if not learned to manage, can lead them to attack other children and even adults. It is necessary that family and teachers know how to manage these profiles from an early age (from 4 years old). <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">From these selected indicators, a questionnaire is configured that the system will automatically send to the parents and teachers of each child registered in d\u00edde.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">As the participants in the questionnaire send the answers, the administrator of the d\u00edde platform (whether it is the guidance department of an educational center, a professional from a psychopedagogical or speech therapy cabinet, or a family member through the <a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.dide.app\">dide familia<\/a> version), will obtain the information organized to take the appropriate measures.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">There are programs, such as <a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"https:\/\/recurra.es\/programa+recurra-ginso\">RECURRA-GINSO<\/a>, which arise to provide support and response to families in conflict with their adolescent children.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Communication between the family and the school, key to preventing hostile behavior<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">An important aspect for the prevention of hostile behaviors is <strong>communication between the family and the school<\/strong>, with the <strong>d\u00ed<\/strong><strong>de <\/strong>system, contact is easily and discreetly established between the two areas and, if necessary, also the health area. <strong>d\u00edde <\/strong>also simplifies the monitoring and evolution of minors. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">As specialists from different fields well know, innovations in prevention and, which also work as is the case of early detection with <strong>d\u00edde, <\/strong>may generate fear since <strong>after knowing, action is requested<\/strong>, but the human cost both personally and socially of not doing so is devastating and immense, which far exceeds the figures of preventing.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/dide.org\/evaluacion-orientadora-del-perfil-del-alumno-dide\/\">How to use d\u00edde in my educational center?<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/dide.org\/dide-familia-dificultades-necesidades-hijos\/\">How can I know the difficulties of my child and if they need help from a psychoeducational professional?<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/dide.org\/contacto-formulario-page\/\"><strong>CONTACT US<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>November 25, International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women November 25 was declared International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women at the 1st Feminist Meeting of Latin America and the Caribbean held in Bogot\u00e1, Colombia in July 1981.
