A virtual meeting also designed for professionals to learn about the latest trends in diagnosis and intervention in children with special needs. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">El <a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"https:\/\/dide.org\/neuropediatra-trastornos-desarrollo-infantil-tdah-fracaso-escolar-dide\/\"><strong>Dr. Manuel Antonio Fern\u00e1ndez<\/strong>,<\/a> known as \u201c<strong>The Child Neurologist<\/strong>\u201d on the internet, and convinced that <strong>coordination between teachers, family, and health professionals is<\/strong> <strong>vital to detect and treat these disorders<\/strong>, organizes this pioneering event, focused on providing a practical vision for parents of children with special needs who want to know and put into practice effective strategies that allow them to better understand the child&#8217;s problems and challenges and how to care for them to help normalize their situation. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The event will feature the participation of <strong>30 expert professionals<\/strong> from the health, education, and neuroscience sectors, as well as representatives from technology companies and associations that serve this group.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">This meeting will be held <strong>from October 21 to 23, 2019<\/strong> and can be followed from anywhere in the world via the Internet at no cost, although <a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"https:\/\/albertoramirez--elneuropediatra.thrivecart.com\/congreso-virtual-aprendizaje-desarrollo\/\"><strong>registration is required<\/strong><\/a> to receive <strong>free access to the talks for 24 hours<\/strong>. This event responds to the demand for training and resources for the growing number of parents, educators, and healthcare professionals who are aware of the need for a comprehensive approach from the classroom, the office, and the family to promote better normalization of the situation for these children. <\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Trends in diagnosis and intervention of ADHD, dyslexia, Autism Spectrum Disorder, High Abilities<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">In this sense, knowing the trends in diagnosis and intervention that help the functional and cognitive development of children with special needs is key to empowering both their close environment and the child themselves. Between 5 and <\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">10% of the child population suffers from <strong>ADHD<\/strong> (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder), and it is estimated that approximately 6% of children in primary school have <strong>dyslexia<\/strong>. Both disorders can end in <strong>school failure if they do not receive adequate professional help.<\/strong> 60% of children with <strong>high intellectual abilities<\/strong> are also exposed to study and behavior problems, whose apparent lack of interest in school often leads them to be misdiagnosed with ADHD. Another group that requires specialized professional help for their development and care is <strong>Autism <\/strong><strong>Spectrum Disorder<\/strong>, a term that includes not only children with autism but also children with <strong>Asperger&#8217;s<\/strong> or <strong>specific language disorders<\/strong>, among others, and whose prevalence is estimated to affect 1 in 100 people, according to the study carried out by Autism-Europe in 2015.  <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">As a general rule, the first warning signs begin to be detected in primary school, but are teachers the first to give the warning? That is, are they sufficiently prepared? Manuel Antonio Fern\u00e1ndez states that \u201cthe reality I encounter every day in the office is highly variable. There are cases where the first warning of alarm signs of autism, ADHD, dyslexia, or high abilities comes from the school, but in most cases, the suspicion arises at home directly from the parents.\u201d  <\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Most cases begin to show suspicious behaviors around 18 months, and the vast majority show significant symptoms before age 6. It is important to adequately train primary school teachers so that they can help families detect these types of cases when it has not yet been done <\/span><\/h3>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h2><\/h2>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #000000;\">&#8216;Learning and Development&#8217;, an online congress on neuroscience and education that focuses on children with study, behavior, or development problems<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Aware of the need to disseminate diagnostic and intervention tools for children with special needs, Manuel Antonio Fern\u00e1ndez has organized an event that aims to reach the largest possible number of families and education and neuroscience professionals.
